Regulatory Strategy Project - Consultation on outcomes

This consultation has now closed.

In February 2016 Qualifications Wales launched the Regulatory Strategy project to identify whether our current regulatory strategy is effective and appropriate, or whether we should be applying an alternative method.

Following feedback from awarding bodies and commissioned external research, we have decided to publish high level, non-prescriptive regulatory outcomes to guide regulation and frame our broader regulatory approach. These outcomes are drafted as a representation of the shared goals of Qualifications Wales and Awarding Bodies.

We need your views

We have produced proposed wording for the outcomes and mapped the existing Conditions to those outcomes.

We are inviting awarding bodies, centres, learners, sector bodies and others to take part in a survey, to share their views on the proposed wording of the outcomes and the mapping of the Conditions (N.B. It should be noted that Conditions can be mapped to more than one outcome. In our proposed mapping, and to avoid duplication, we have mapped what we deem to be the most relevant condition to each outcome.)

You can take part via our online survey or by downloading the consultation. Details on how we intend to use the information you provide, and where to send your answers by post, are included.

The consultation is open until Wednesday 5 July, 6pm.

Before you begin: Please download the PDF of the outcomes, in their proposed wording, and the mapping of the Conditions. You will need to have this available before you take part in the consultation.

The responses received will inform the final version of Qualifications Wales’ regulatory outcomes. A report summarising the consultation responses will be published on our website after the consultation period has ended. Updates will be posted on this page as they arise.
