Privacy notice - Travel, Tourism, Hospitality and Catering Sector Review: Learner Engagement
As part of this project, we will be keeping information on your consent forms that identifies you. This form asks for your name and the name of your school, college or workplace. This is necessary for us to keep appropriate records of your consent to take part in the activity.
We undertake this activity to support our principal aims of:
- Ensuring that qualifications, and the Welsh qualification system, are effective for meeting the reasonable needs of learners in Wales;
- Promoting public confidence in qualifications and in the Welsh qualification system.
The lawful basis for keeping this information is to enable us to fulfil our public task as the regulator for the qualifications system in Wales, under Qualifications Wales Act 2015 (under article 6e of the UK GDPR.)
Qualifications Wales will be the “data controller” of the personal information provided. Details of how to contact us are below. Strategic Research and Insight Ltd, a third-party independent research company commissioned by Qualifications Wales to undertake this learner engagement, will be collecting and storing the data on Qualifications Wales’ behalf.
Your personal information will only be kept for the purposes above. It will be kept securely for 12 months from the publication of our research report, and will then be destroyed.
Strategic Research & Insight (SRI) will collect learner’s views through focus groups. SRI will not seek to collect identifiable information from these groups. If identifiable information is provided by a learner, then this information will be omitted from the transcription. SRI will not write learners’ names or initials on focus group notes or include them on any data analysis tools such as spreadsheets.
SRI will produce a report from all of the focus groups, identifying key feedback raised by learners. SRI will provide this report to Qualifications Wales. All feedback will be anonymised, and no personally identifiable information will be included in this report.
Freedom of Information
Please note that as a public body, all written information that Qualifications Wales hold is subject to Freedom of Information requests. Qualifications Wales will comply with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR when considering requests made under the Freedom of Information Act.
Subject to some legal exceptions, you have the right to:
- request a copy of the personal information Qualifications Wales holds about you
- to have any inaccuracies corrected
- to have your personal data erased
- to place a restriction on our processing of your data
- to object to processing
