Review of late results for vocational qualifications in summer 2022

We are reassured that the work undertaken by Ofqual, OCR and Pearson will result in improvements for summer 2023.

Today, Ofqual has published an action plan as part of its ongoing review into the issuing of late results for some OCR and Pearson vocational qualifications in summer 2022. The action plan aims to prevent a recurrence of the delayed results in summer 2023. Details can be found on the Ofqual website.

Ofqual continues its review into last summer’s events and will publish a fuller report in the new year. Ofqual will be consulting on some of its proposed actions early in 2023. We will provide further information on the consultation when it launches.

OCR and Pearson have published their own internal reviews into summer 2022 today that include recommendations on improvements for future examination series.

We are reassured that the work undertaken by Ofqual, OCR and Pearson will result in improvements for summer 2023. We are also pleased to see that the reviews have reached similar conclusions on the issues that occurred last summer and the steps that need to be taken to prevent a recurrence. It is a priority that results are issued on time, to allow learners to progress to the next stage of their learning or into employment.
