- 722,465 certificates were awarded in 2021/22, a decrease of 2.5% compared to 2020/21. WJEC was the awarding body with the largest market share, awarding 68.8% of all certificates, a similar proportion to last year.
- On 31 August 2022, there were 93 recognised awarding bodies in Wales, which is three fewer than in 2021. Since Qualifications Wales was established on 21 September 2015, there are 40 fewer recognised awarding bodies, a decrease of 30.1%.
